Who We Are

We are a 501C3 organization that is composed of Mothers* of a person who has served in or has been honorably discharged from the Armed Forces of the United States. We also have associate members who dedicate their time to support our mission.

Our Mission

Blue Star Mothers of America’s mission is to support the Armed Forces of the United States of America and its Veterans; advocate for America’s Armed Forces and those men and women who have served their country with honor; maintain allegiance to the United States; educate our members and others not to divulge military or other government information; assist and participate in ceremonies which honor, remember and support our military men and women, and veterans; honor those families whose children have dies in service to our country; assist in the care of unsupported mothers who gave their children to the service of the Nation; foster true democracy; assist in Homeland Security; uphold the American principles of freedom, justice and equal rights, and to defend the United States from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

What We Do

Each month, we send freedom boxes to our deployed servicemen and women from our communities packed with snacks, hygiene items and other comforts from home.

We provide necessary items to our local Veterans Center on an as needed basis along with some surprise visits with fun donations.

We offer a support system unlike no other for our fellow military mothers, because no one quite understands what they are going through like another military mother.

We partner with other military projects like Wreaths Across America, the VFW food pantry, The American Legion as well as our local Elks Lodge.

We network and fundraise in our communities to raise funds to support our mission as well as operating costs.

How Can You Help?

Get involved: You don’t have to be a military mother to join, we have associates who serve alongside the mothers to ensure our mission is achieved. We are always seeking partnerships with businesses as well as individuals in our community. To learn more about joining, please visit www.bluestarmothers.us. If you would like to chat with a member to learn more about our chapter, please email contact@bsmok20.com.

Donate Physical Items: We have multiple drop off locations for physical items. We will also come to you at a time that is convenient for you. Drop off locations and items that we can accept can be found here. For more information, please send an email to donate@bsmok20.com.

Donate Monetarily: We use donations for a multitude of things including business operations like rent and utilities, packing supplies, shipping, homecoming meals for units coming back from deployment, memorial flowers and so much more. You may designate your donation to a specific category that is close to your personal values, and we will ensure that it is put to that specific use, or it will go into our general fund to be dispersed as needed.

Get Social With Us: Our social media is monetized, so we do receive small amounts from our Facebook for the amount of reach it gains. Please consider following us and interacting. This is a great way to help us grow our audience as well as raise funds.

Fundraising: We host and benefit from multiple fundraisers each year. Our biggest is the Support Our Troops Dinner & Auction, hosted by Claremore Elks Lodge #1230 slated for August 24, 2024. We also held our inaugural golf tournament Tee Off for Troops on April 12, 2024 and will be hosting a Troop Shoot at Excaliber in Afton, OK on June 8, 2024. We also do smaller fundraisers throughout the year, which will be posted on the home page as well as our socials, so be sure to check back often.
